Touched by an Angel Retreat – Feb. 24-26, 2012

One of my favorite events each year has been our annual trip to the Touched by an Angel Ministry Center in Tupelo, MS.  Well, the time has come for another trip to TBAA!  We’ll be heading down to Tupelo for a great weekend of sharing God’s love with some very special people at the end of February 2012.  Here’s the details…

February 24-26, 2012  –  Tupelo, MS

Cost – $80  ($25 deposit due Feb. 1; Balance due Feb. 19)

Who can come – Any teen from 7th thru 12th grade

What is TBAA? - A camp for special needs individuals in Tupelo, MS.  Our youth who attend serve as caretakers for these special campers.  This trip has easily become one of our favorites for our students, as it is a great ministry opportunity to get to work with these special needs individuals, and we always come back with plenty of great memories of the fun that we have while sharing Christ’s love.  Once you go once, you’ll want to go back again and again.

Parent/Student Meeting – Sunday, Feb. 19 @ 5pm in the gym.

Student-Led Worship – This Wednesday, Nov. 9

There’s not much that gets me more excited than seeing teenagers doing ministry themselves.  That’s the whole purpose of Student Ministry – students doing ministry, reaching out to each other!  And this Wednesday, that’s exactly what’s taking place.

Our adults are stepping aside and our students are leading us in worship.  Everything from the games to the music to the preaching is going to be led by our students.  Drew Webb, one of our seniors, is bringing the message for the night.

So students, invite a friend and come worship with us!

Awesome job, Gabby!

Just wanted to take a moment to say, “Awesome job, Gabby!”  Gabby Wilson, who is a junior at Briarcrest High School, stepped up and shared our devotional for our Wild Wednesday on September 28 and did an awesome job!  She shared with our teenagers from Colossians 3:23 & 2 Thessalonians 3:10 about the importance of working our hardest at everything we do and using our God-given potential to its fullest.

Thanks Gabby for sharing!  It’s so awesome to watch students step up and become leaders and ministers themselves!
